An announcement from Business of Cannabis regarding COVID-19

Amid growing concerns over the outbreak of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and with health guidance from Canadian and global health authorities, Business of Cannabis has made the decision to shift our plans for both Cannabis + Technology | Retail Tech (April 16, 2020) and Medical Cannabis Week (May 4-8, 2020).

Based on current information, the responsible path forward is to embrace social distancing as the norm until we are able to flatten the curve. It is our belief that over the next several months, most work will be done remotely and digitally, meaning that digital content will be the main method through which business development, professional learning and other person-to-person connections will occur.

THE PLAN

As a platform that has always prided ourselves on being nimble and capable of hosting meaningful conversations in real time, using technology, we have a fresh plan for our community.

Both events will still be held; first digitally and then live, at new dates (to be confirmed) in the fall:

– Cannabis + Technology | Retail Tech will be hosted across all BofC digital channels between April 13-17 with a new live event date in September or October; and

– Medical Cannabis Week will be hosted across all BofC digital channels between May 4-8 with a new live event date in October or November.

With a commitment to continuing to build a strong cannabis business community, we will be live streaming new interviews, conversations and perspectives everyday. Follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn for more details.

As a dedicated and loyal Business of Cannabis reader, we wanted to share this news with you first and ensure that lines of communication between us were open. Should you have any questions or reservations about these changes, please feel free to contact us. As always, we encourage you to join our social networks to stay connected and informed as we all enter this new reality.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our work. We appreciate your patience as we work through this evolving situation and look forward to continuing the conversation.
