We’ve Got You Covered Edition

Well, it has started. Some notable cannabis industry events have begun pushing out their previously rescheduled Fall 2020 schedule into 2021. While the sector is keen to convene, in-person events continue to seem far off.

But BofC has you covered.

Coming up on Friday, we’ll connect with Niel Marotta the President + CEO of Indiva for a Lunch+Learn. Then, one week from today, we’ll be congregating as Cannabis Forward, led by our team in Alberta talking about creating a streamlined and profitable supply chain, thanks to the support of ROBIC. The Cannabis Forward event will be followed by an industry-best networking opportunity through Hopin. Join us for both.

Finally, we brought in a new partner last week – ALCiT – a managed IT services company that is now our “Protected by” partner. Read about the partnership – and how to protect yourself from phishing.

Enjoy this week’s newsletter and read on…

First, to the big guys:

Remember the closure of two Canopy Growth cultivation facilities in BC and 200+/- digital media folks a few weeks back? Well, executives got a pretty good salary bump at the same time. MJ Biz Daily

By the way, in case you don’t remember the Canopy layoffs, Joanne Gallop, former creative lead at Canopy, wrote a piece for CBC about what it was like to get laid off via Zoom. CBC

In an unrelated story about a different big guy: Tilray is being sued in the US for allegedly misleading shareholders. MJ Biz Daily

We learned a few weeks back that part of CannTrust’s license had been reinstated, now it’s Bonify’s turn. (You may recall, Bonify had some (ahem) challenges in 2018/2019…) MJ Biz Daily

Organigram signed an export agreement with a company in Israel. MJ Biz Daily And not a moment too soon as the two governing parties in Israel – Blue and White and Likud – agreed to table legalization/decriminalization of cannabis. The Jerusalem Post

To the Provinces and Territories looking at retails:

BlogTo took a look at all the cannabis retailers that have opening in Toronto. BlogTo

The Provincial cannabis store in Quebec will be delivering same-day in Montreal within the next month. The Growth Op

As Ontario and other Provinces roll out more retail operations, territories want in on the action too. Last month it was Nunavut, this week, NWT. Nunatsiaq News + CBC

And finally, cannabis click bait (and body shaming) from our friends at The Growth Op: Here are three ways CBD can help you get into swimsuit shape
