On this episode – BofC Live features our weekly conversation with Liz Stahura, the Co-Founder and President of BDSA – the Official Insights Partner of Business of Cannabis. Stahura walked through insights BDSA has developed from consumer trends in the first half of 2020 – including COVID-19-related behaviour.

There’s been a lot of talk this week in particular about delivery, especially in Ontario. The data does report in increase and utilization of delivery services over time. So, what we’re looking at here is Q1 2019 versus Q1 2020 and this is the percent of consumers that state that they had utilized a delivery service over the past six months. So you’re seeing significant increases and an upward trend both in BC as a counterpoint, but in particular in Ontario. We’re seeing an increase from 12% to about 20% of consumers saying they are utilizing delivery services. I think it’s also interesting or important to note that during the same period, shopping at a cannabis retail store actually jumped from 34% to 50% in Ontario.
