Business of Cannabis research shows broad support for jobs associated with burgeoning Canadian cannabis industry
TORONTO, SEPT. 3, 2019 – Business of Cannabis, an award-winning cannabis media, events and research platform, found that nearly three quarters of Canadians support local government attracting jobs in the cannabis industry.
Original research conducted by NanosResearch and commissioned by Business of Cannabis aimed to understand theCanadian public’s support of the economic development related to the cannabis industry.
“There is broad support for attracting cannabis jobs to local communities,” said Jay Rosenthal, Co-Founder andPresident of Business of Cannabis, “Statistics Canada’s recent report showed that the cannabis jobs are being added to the economy at a rapid pace, our data show that local governments have support to attract these jobs to their communities.”
Other key findings in the Business ofCannabis report include:
● Twice as manyCanadians have a positive rather than a negative impression of cannabis industry contributions to the Canadian economy,
● Nearly four in five Canadians are accepting or somewhat accepting of jobs in the cannabisIndustry,
● More than three quarters of Canadians say it is possible or somewhat possible for Canada to be a global leader in the cannabis sector.
These observations are based on an RDD dual frame (land- and cell-lines) hybrid telephone and online random survey of1,000 Canadians, 18 years of age or older, conducted by Nanos Research betweenJuly 28th and July 30th, 2019.
